Transparent

Standard

This was the first thing I wrote since youth, a couple of years ago. Sitting in bed after surgery and a long illness before that, torn apart by pain and weariness.

Am there again,  today. Man, do I ever need stamina.

I hope to hear this being sung once. Hope to sing it, myself.

Transparent

Transparent

Worn thin

Can be torn by anything

A  worn white curtain

Rough at the edges

Seen it all felt it all

Stained by time and life

Pull a thread

Make a hole

I’m still here

And the breeze moves through

The light shines through

Hang on a little longer

Shaking with pain

Scared as hell

Saved by breath going in

Cry coming out

I’m worn thin

Can be torn by anything

But the breeze moves me

And the sun shines through me

I’ll hang on a bit longer

Will I ever be the same

Scars and aches all over

Can I never be the same

I’m stars and kicks too

Easy cut through

Just takes two words from you

My skin so thin

Can be torn by anything

But the breeze moves me

And the light shines through me

I’ll hang on a bit longer
